about
The Cats is poem written by H.P. Lovecraft. I read the poem and made it into a track, one which Aaron Whitsell and I together collaborated on. We wanted to make something dark an atmospheric that would convey a certain tone. Aaron came up with the hauntingly creepy music and ghastly guitars while I came up with the simple but eerie bassline and tribal percussions parts. We felt this was a perfect intro into the track: PET SEMATARY - The Ramones cover song.
lyrics
The Cats
By H. P. Lovecraft
Babels of blocks to the high heavens tow’ring,
Flames of futility swirling below;
Poisonous fungi in brick and stone flow’ring,
Lanterns that shudder and death-lights that glow.
Black monstrous bridges across oily rivers,
Cobwebs of cable by nameless things spun;
Catacomb deeps whose dank chaos delivers
Streams of live foetor, that rots in the sun.
Colour and splendour, disease and decaying,
Shrieking and ringing and scrambling insane,
Rabbles exotic to stranger-gods praying,
Jumbles of odour that stifle the brain.
Legions of cats from the alleys nocturnal,
Howling and lean in the glare of the moon,
Screaming the future with mouthings infernal,
Yelling the burden of Pluto’s red rune.
Tall tow’rs and pyramids ivy’d and crumbling,
Bats that swoop low in the weed-cumber’d streets;
Bleak broken bridges o’er rivers whose rumbling
Joins with no voice as the thick tide retreats.
Belfries that blackly against the moon totter,
Caverns whose mouths are by mosses effac’d,
And living to answer the wind and the water,
Only the lean cats that howl in the waste!
Pet Sematary
By THE RAMONES
Under the arc of a weather stain boards,
Ancient goblins, and warlords,
Come out of the ground, not making a sound,
The smell of death is all around,
And the night when the cold wind blows,
No one cares, nobody knows.
[CHORUS]
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again,
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again.
Follow Victor to the sacred place,
This ain't a dream, I can't escape,
Molars and fangs, the clicking of bones,
Spirits moaning among the tombstones,
And the night, when the moon is bright,
Someone cries, something ain't right.
[CHORUS]
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again,
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again.
The moon is full, the air is still,
All of a sudden I feel a chill,
Victor is grinning, flesh rotting away,
Skeletons dance, I curse this day,
And the night when the wolves cry out,
Listen close and you can hear me shout.
[CHORUS]
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again,
I don't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don't want to live my life again.

Who doesn't know about Rogga and his phenomenal output of swedeath? It has to be acknowledged that he doesn't put out any bad songs and is capable to hold up the tension. Not only that, je eben manages to increase the intensity of his works. mourner

Strong, powerful death metal with hints of black metal and great dark atmosphere. Pettersson and Lee team up just perfectly. Right now it's one of my favourite death metal releases ever. mourner
