This is a cover of the theme from the film: 28 Days Later - originally created by film composer John Murphy. In this - my re-imagined and reinterpreted version, it comes with a lyrical and vocal approach to convey an overall atmospheric sense of dread, doom, and complete isolation and loneliness. Not only suggesting days & weeks gone by... but actual months and eventually years. {* For me personally, it has a deeper more very personal meaning, as all my lyrics always have a deeper meaning in one sense or the other - either literally or metaphorically.}
Additionally in this version - guitarist Aaron Whitsell masterfully recreated the signature guitar parts from the original version, and actually performed the piano pieces as well on guitar to convey a unique haunting type tone.
Plus the fantastic dynamics performed by drummer Brynjar Helgetun I feel really creates an intense build up with out getting overly flashy and excessive.
Finally, the masterful mixing and producing skills of madman Patrick Bruss really brings the thick tone and overall intensity of this track to the true majesty of dreadful ambiance it required.
This track was never meant to be a straight death metal take or interpretation; it's meant to remain truthful to the source with hopefully adding a very unique and bizarre twist that is - KAM LEE.
So - for those of you with open minds and grim ridden insight, may you relish in this utter sorrowful bleakness.
